Does pH balance
Does pH balance of your #skincare product really matters?
Well, turns out it does! If you are someone who works hard to keep your skin healthy, balancing your skin’s pH level is key to clear glowing skin.
Let’s start by giving you a brief idea of what pH balance Is. pH is a scale that measure the acid alkaline ratio of a substance. The scale starts at 1 and ends at 14. Anything below 7 is acidic and anything above 7 is alkaline and 7 is neutral. Our skin is slightly acidic and when our skin is at 5.5 pH level it is considered as the healthiest. Because the acidic nature locks the #natural moisture, protects our skin from external stressors mainly bacteria and keeps it well hydrated.
But the problem with most of our skin care products is either it is above or below the 5.5 pH level. This clearly, is not healthy for your skin. Is your skin feeling too tight and dry after using a certain skin care product? Chances are the pH level of the product is too high. This makes your skin dry, sensitive and destroy collagen causing wrinkles. It even causes skin conditions such as eczema. If your skin care product is too acidic, it makes your skin too oily and greasy leading to acne.
Most of the time it’s the sulphates or alcohol, in the product, that increases or decrease the pH level of your skin. So next time be wise to check the pH level of your skincare product. At O’rive we understand the need to keep your skin #healthy and therefore, all our #product are pH balanced and organic. We do #good to your skin and nature!
